BIC event tickets up for grabs as pay-by-phone parking expands in Bournemouth

 4th Jul 2011

Bournemouth Borough Council is celebrating the expansion of pay-by-phone parking by entering motorists into a prize draw for summer event tickets.

As RingGo extends its service to more town centre on-street spaces, the BIC and Pavilion is offering three lucky people the chance to win family tickets for up to four people for BBC Sea Monsters: A Walking with Dinosaurs Exhibition, The Rawk Ice Rink or Celebrity Exhibition.

Each winner will also be treated to free parking for the event. All you need to do to enter is use the RingGo service at a Bournemouth Borough Council operated car park or on-street space between 4 July and 18 July 2011.

The service, which has been operating successfully in car parks around the town, enables motorists to pay for their on-street town centre parking by making a short phone call, sending a text message or paying via either the RingGo iphone or Android phone applications.

Councillor Michael Filer, Cabinet Member for Transport and Technical Services, said: "Gone are the days of searching around for loose change or queuing at a machine on a busy summer's day. By expanding RingGo to more on-street parking spaces we're reducing the hassle for motorists and ensuring their time is better spent enjoying the town's wonderful seafront, attractions, Pavilion and BIC shows and shopping."

Three winners will be picked at random after 18 July from the RingGo database and contacted by phone. For full terms and conditions click here.

RingGo is being rolled out to 12 new streets as well as the car park in Westover Gardens. The traditional method of cash-payment will also continue.
