RingGo the Right Solution for Bromley

 17th May 2010

Today (17 May), London's biggest Borough - the London Borough of Bromley - is rolling out RingGo cashless parking for all on and off-street parking, excluding the multi-storey car parks in Bromley Town Centre.  RingGo's parent company, Cobalt Telephone Technologies, won the contract following a tough tender process.  A trial by an alternative supplier has been operating in one area of the Borough which will now be replaced.
Bromley is the ninth London Borough to offer RingGo payments, extending the reach of the service across the Capital into a key new area.  Commuters driving from the south and south east of the capital can now register once, and park anywhere along a corridor through Bromley, Lewisham or Southwark, into the city centre using the same 020 3046 0010 number and the same phone parking system throughout.

Ben Stephens, Bromley's Business Manager for Parking Services says "We are pleased to be able to offer our Customers an alternative method of payment for parking.  We know that motorists may feel frustrated at times if they do not have the correct change or they know their ticket is about to expire.  This alternative payment method provides a neat solution to these problems and will provide a significant benefit to many of our customers.  We are always looking to improve customer services and this is a logical additional service for our customers."

RingGo is widespread to the west of London and also across Kent, so the acquisition of Bromley links two highly developed areas for the service.  With usage to both west and east already good, the potential for this new London Borough looks particularly positive, according to RingGo Sales Director, Terry New:

"RingGo's UK footprint is such that, now, wherever we launch, we see a large number of existing users adopt the service immediately.  Our experience is that at any new site, about a third of customers will have used RingGo elsewhere.  But with such a high concentration of RingGo sites surrounding Bromley, we would expect initial take up there to be particularly good.

"Our expansion across Kent has been remarkable," New continues.  "Our first RingGo roll out was less than a year ago when Dover launched the service.  Since then, Shepway, Canterbury, Tunbridge Wells and now Bromley have all joined too.  It's great testimony to RingGo that positive news about the service spreads so fast that others come on board within months.  This latest addition is a great case in point."
