Chiltern Railways steams ahead with RingGo

 5th Jan 2010

Paying for parking at Chiltern Railways stations is becoming that little bit easier as RingGo parking rolls out to twelve new station car parks.

Pay and display machines will still be offered, but regular train users in particular will appreciate the speed and flexibility of using RingGo.  With RingGo, passengers don't need to remember their coins, and they can pay for their parking on the way to, or even from the platform itself, saving precious minutes on the way to the train.

For Chiltern Railway parking, users call 01753 202 0000, provide their vehicle, location and payment card details and say how long they want to stay.  Registering details by phone takes a couple of minutes, but subsequently calls typically take less than a minute.  Even more time can be saved by pre-registering on line at www.myRingGo.co.uk.

The twelve new stations rolling out the service are:
o    Aylesbury
o    Aylesbury Vale Parkway
o    Beaconsfield
o    Denham
o    Gerrards Cross
o    Great Missenden
o    Haddenham and Thame
o    Princes Risborough
o    Seer Green and Jordans
o    Stoke Mandeville
o    Wendover
o    West Ruislip

These stations add to the ten existing Chiltern Railway car parks that offer RingGo.  Take up of the solution at these sites has been good, which is why the service is now being extended.

Voluntary feedback from users highlights the many benefits of the service. "RingGo saves hunting around for coins and in the recent rain, saved trudging to the machine through the puddles.  It's great!"

Chad Collins, General Manager South at Chiltern Railways said:  "We're excited to be rolling RingGo out to twelve new car parks.  We have been very pleased with how RingGo makes car parking simpler and easier for our passengers who want to buy on the go."
