Travelodge rollout for RingGo

 28th Jan 2008

travelodge exterior shotStaying away just got even easier with the announcement today that Travelodge are trialling RingGo. This is with a view to introduce it as a means of payment across the network of car parks that serve their 300 strong UK hotel network.

Launched earlier this month in four trial sites in London, Edinburgh and Manchester the reaction of both guests and the hotel management teams has been overwhelming positive.

This trial which has been led by enforcement specialists Britannia Parking is expected to lead to a next stage of rollout if successful.  This next stage, of a further 25 sites, will be contemplated once the 3 month period of evaluation is complete.  Brian Parker, Regional Manager, is however already confident: "Our head office is in Bournemouth which was one of the first towns to implement RingGo and so my company's decision makers are all wholly familar with RingGo as users themselves.  Although we also contemplated the other major alternative phone parking system offered in the UK we concluded that it was unacceptably difficult to use - particularly for BlackBerry users like myself.  RingGo, on the other hand, is a doddle."

Anne Snelson, RingGo's marketing manager, further explains the background "Since the summer, RingGo has been deployed in all Moto and Roadchef motorway service stations to allow for payment of stays exceeding 2 hours. Our research has shown that, as a direct result, RingGo is becoming a widely recognised and trusted brand for those busy individuals at the heart of the economy for whom driving, parking and staying away overnight are an integral of their daily life."

"The success and growth of Travelodge is widely recognised as being driven by a commitment to making sure that guests enjoy a restful break, at good value prices. Offering a simple and convenient way to pay for parking, regardless of whether the motorist has any loose change or not, ensures that each guest starts their overnight stay in a relaxed frame of mind".
