After only nine months of full operation, the implementation of RingGo on the First Great Western Railway today won a commendation at the annual British Parking Awards lunch held at the Dorchester on London's Park Lane.
Speaking afterwards, Manny Rasores, chairman of the judging panel, explained that it was the depth of co-operation between the various suppliers and the end client First Great Western that had impressed him and his colleagues. "Phone parking implementations of this kind are without doubt going to revolutionise our industry" he said. First Great Western Station Contracts Manager, Robert Jackson, attended the Awards. He commented, "From my point of view it was the speed of implementation that was impressive. New ideas can often be slow to grow, but RingGo signage was up across almost our whole network in just a few weeks, and very quickly changed the way our customers think about parking."
Joanna Miller, Technical Director of Cobalt Telephone Technologies, the creators of RingGo, was happy to receive the commendation. "It's great for our team to be recognised in this way. The award category was for "Joined Up Thinking and Innovation". As we continue to strive to work closely with all our clients and suppliers in pushing forward this useful technology, this has come as an especially pleasing acknowledgement of our successes."
