Customers just turn up and park, then call the number on the car park ticket machine giving their car and parking details and pay with a credit or debit card. The trial, in partnership with technology provider RingGo, started in December 2008. The eight additional stations are: o Eastleigh o Salisbury o Guildford (Long Stay, Farnham Road and Premium car parks) o Fareham o Brockenhurst o Farnham o Esher o Winchfield The 10 stations where it is already available are Basingstoke, Farnborough, Southampton Parkway, Woking, Winchester, Surbiton, Havant, Andover, Richmond and Yeovil Junction. South West Trains' project manager Andy Naylor said: "We are really pleased with just how popular this scheme has been and we are delighted to expand this convenient payment option to more stations." RingGo's Project Manager, Alex Walker said: "The take up of RingGo at existing South West Trains stations has been fantastic. So we are delighted that more rail travellers are now being given the chance to use phone parking instead of cash." |
