Motorists parking in West Devon Borough Council's car parks now have a quicker and more convenient way of paying for parking - by phone, using their credit or debit card.
Richmond Council in southwest London is proposing to extend its ground-breaking CO2 related parking policy using new technology provided by RingGo.  The change is one of a number of parking recommendations to go before the cabinet on 19 January. 
From today (17 December) people shopping in Bristol can pay for their parking over their mobile phone, using a credit or debit card, rather than with coins.  Cashless parking service, RingGo, is rolling out to to a number of on-street parking bays and off-street car parks operated by Bristol City Council, from today.

From Monday (8 December), commuters parking at ten busiest South West Trains stations - including Andover, Winchester, Southampton Parkway, Basingstoke and Farnborough - will be able to pay for their parking by phone.
Motorists who park their cars in most of the street bays and car parks operated by Bristol City Council will soon be able to pay for their parking via their mobile phone. The innovative scheme is to be rolled out in trial form before Christmas, beginning in the streets around the Wills Building in Clifton.

Barnet Council is implementing a trial of pay by phone parking from 29th September 2008.  The introduction of the trial will provide a safer, easier and more flexible method of payment for motorists as drivers are not required to carry cash to pay for their tickets, instead calling a telephone number, entering their vehicle registration, length of stay and their debit card number.

Drivers in Test Valley now have a quicker and more convenient way of paying for parking using their mobile phone. From Monday 11 August, users will have the option to pay for their parking over the phone using a credit or debit card.
